Hey, my names Matt Madison & I’m a Seattle based tattooer specializing in bold, bright color work with clearly defined lines. I’m originally from Savannah, Georgia, where I started & became immersed in tattoo shops since 2013. I started tattooing professionally in 2017, learning through apprenticeships eventually moving out to Seattle August 2020.

 

Growing up I was always drawing. My early influences started from anime/manga & comics, skateboard graphics, & album covers from metal & punk bands. Inevitably I started  collecting tattoo magazines at the age of 12 & became absolutely obsessed from then on as it tied in my love for Japan/Asia & my love for history. As my style developed, I absorbed influences from art nouveau, surreal & psychedelic art.

 

I had my start in street shops, where I gained experience tattooing a wide range of styles. Since then, I’ve started to try to focus more toward intentional, large-scale tattoos, that hold a lot of deeper symbolism within the images that the wearer may not be aware of. I prefer to try to steer someone towards the style of work I already prefer to paint. That said, I’m open to a variety of styles from fine-line florals, to more detailed work, as long as I can bring my own aesthetic into the design. 

 

Every piece is drawn from scratch, designed to hold strong over time. Whether it’s a piece of flash or custom, small or multi-session projects, I work best when I’m given creative freedom & a shared sense of trust. It’s about the journey & transformation, that changes you by the end.
